Selcom has been officially selected as an approved supplier on the UK Government’s G-Cloud 9 public sector procurement portal.
This approval, validated by the Crown Commercial Services, means that public sector organisations will be able to procure Selcom’s ‘Managed Web Application Hosting’ service from the Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) class of G-Cloud.
Selcom Managing Director David Sellers believes this is a positive move, opening up another procurement route for local authorities: ‘Our place on the G-Cloud 9 framework is an essential method for marketing our service. This service includes our cost effective, robust disaster recovery solution, which provides site-to-site replication either from our Data Centre in York to our UK partner’s site, or to and from the clients’ own Data Centre.’
News of Selcom’s selection coincides with the firm’s recent ISO27001 accreditation, which Sellers says reassures potential new G-cloud 9 customers of his firm’s ability to securely manage their data and, at the same time, provides assurances that the firm is following ISO 27001-information security best practice.
